Volunteer Treasurer (Trustee)

Cotgrave Community Garden

Cotgrave Community Garden is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and support the financial sustainability of our community-led food growing project.

This role helps ensure the charity’s finances are well managed and supports decisions that enable fair access to food, community wellbeing, and long-term resilience.

Key activities include:

  • Overseeing budgets, accounts, and basic financial reporting
  • Helping ensure good financial systems and controls are in place
  • Supporting cash flow, reserves, and funding decisions
  • Advising the Board on financial planning and sustainability
  • Supporting fundraising and income-generation planning

About you:


  • Interested in community, food justice, or gardening
  • Experience or understanding of finances (charity experience helpful but not essential)
  • Willing to learn about Trustee responsibilities and contribute to Board decisions
  • Able to offer time, care, and clear thinking

The Treasurer is also a charity Trustee and shares responsibility for ensuring the organisation acts legally, responsibly, and in line with its aims.
