Volunteer Coordinator

Collingham Village Care is a registered Charity which supports patients of Collingham Medical Centre which serves over 30 local villages (in both Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire: Aubourn, Balderton, Bassingham, Besthorpe, Brough, Carlton-Le-Moorland, Coddington, Collingham, Danethorpe, Doddington, Eagle, Eagle Barnsdale, Eagle Moor, Girton, Haddington, Harby, Holme, Langford, Morton, Morton Hall, Newark, Newton on Trent, North Clifton, North Scarle, Norton Disney, South Clifton, South Scarle, Spalford, Stapleford, Swinderby, Swinthorpe, Thorney, Thorpe on the Hill, Thurlby, Whisby, Whisby Moor, Wigsley, Winthorpe and Witham St Hughs

We are located in a rural area and many patients are unable to access transport to attend medical appointments - We therefore treat hospital and other medical appointments as our main priority followed by Optician and Dental appointments. Other requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, often depending on a volunteer driver being available.

Our friendly team would welcome any resident of any of the villages covered by the medical center wishing to volunteer as a co-ordinator

This role involves answering calls, recording passenger requests for trips and allocating drivers to requested trips

There are currently a number of co-ordinators who answer the phone one week in four.  An additional co-ordinator would allow some resilience for holidays and sickness

The phone line is open from 9am-3pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday The co-ordinator generally undertakes duties from their home address Drives are allocated on a Friday by the co-ordinator for the following weeks trips
