West Bridgford Advice Centre

West Bridgford Advice Centre provides confidential, free and unbiased advice and information services for the benefit of the residents of West Bridgford and surrounding areas. Areas of advice include benefits, tax, education, housing and accommodation, consumer, employment, family issues, form filling, health and disability, legal issues. Clients with queries which are outside the remit and competences of the Centre’s volunteers are directed to the appropriate professional or other specialist services - for example immigration issues and debt. As a Volunteer Advisor, you would become a part of a team that can help to provide these services.

What skills do I need?

  • Good listener
  • Good communicator & interpersonal skills
  • Non-judgmental and willing and able to work with people from all walks of life
  • Willing and able to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn - training will be provided
  • Have the ability to recognise your own limitations, and ask for help when needed
  • Ability to use the a PC to assist in internet searches and use of email
