Support the group

Friends of Cotgrave Country Park

There can be many ways to help. What skills and talents do you have that could be put to good use to help us? Here are a few examples but there are many more as well. Some might be a small donation of time whilst others could be more. You can choose.
•    the odd hour walking through the park and telling us about any wildlife sightings to allow us to build a history of nature using the park (be our eyes and ears in the park)
•    carefully picking up items of dropped litter found along the park pathways (PPE and tools can be given)
•    helping us to plan some social events such as quizzes or meals out for our members
•    taking part during our routine task days to install new nature-based projects as well as essential maintenance jobs on paths and fencing
•    coming to our routine meetings to talk through new ideas and future projects for the park
•    re-painting our park benches to stand up to the weather conditions
•    helping us to manage our accounts by applying some basic book keeping skills to support our treasurer
•    assisting with the planning of new projects -  from ideas creation, to costing, to advertising for funding to the final securing of the funds. Project manager
•    producing engaging publicity material and promoting our events and activities
•    recruiting new members – be good at asking others for their time!
•    have an interest in nature and conservation that you want to nurture with other like-minded people
•    be a good organiser who can help us get more done
•    meeting the public who are new to the park, at planned promotion events, to talk with them about the benefit of what our group does and how it helps the park to thrive (are you good at sales!)
•    help us with IT improvements to get more efficient systems in place to run our diaries and manage our information.

The above are examples of how you could help us. But please contact us if you have any ideas no matter what.
We are grateful for any contribution whether of only an hour a week or more.

What skills do I need?

You don’t need any experience or training, and it can be on a timescale to suit your lifestyle, however we would welcome anyone with skills they think could help us. IT skills to help us develop our administrative systems and book keeping or any financial experience to support our Treasurer would be espedcially welcome.
