Dragon Boat Festival Event Volunteers

Beaumond House Hospice

This is your opportunity to be part of one of Newark's great days out of 2025, helping two local charities - The Children's Bereavement Centre and Beaumond House Community Hospice raise more than £20,000 each for their vital work.  To make a packed programme of dragon boat racing and a family fun day possible, we need in excess of 100 volunteers to steward the river bank, run stalls, marshal the car park and generally help the event function smoothly. It's a full-on but fun day that is amazing to be part of, helping raise funds for local people with life-limiting conditions and supporting those who have faced the loss of a child.

Everything you need to volunteer will be provided on the day, including drinks and refreshment, team briefings and volunteer support.  The volunteer shifts on Sunday 14th September are broken down into the following sessions: 7.00am - 9.30am; 9.00am - 12.30pm; midday to 3.30pm; 3.00pm - 6.00pm and 5.00pm - 7.00pm, but if you can only make an hour then please sign up because the offer of your time will be gratefully received!  There is a further set-up shift on Saturday 13th September between 2.00pm and 5.30pm.
