Athletics Coaching Helpers/Assistants

Rushcliffe Athletic Club

Rushcliffe AC is an established Clubmark accredited athletics club with members aged 8 upwards. We are a fast-growing club based in Nottinghamshire and welcome anyone interested in running, jumping and throwing and of all levels to join us.

We are completely run by unpaid volunteers. We have around 300 individual members ranging from 8 years old and upwards, we have no limit although most of our active members are between 8 and 18. We have 5 training sessions every week and our athletes also take part in many competitions throughout the year.

We are always looking out for new volunteers to help with training sessions. A typical development path for a volunteer would be to spend some time assisting one of our England Athletics ( https://www.englandathletics.org/ ) qualified coaches and then potentially qualify as an assistant coach and possibly on to be being a specialised coach see Coaching Journey ( https://www.englandathletics.org/coaches-and-officials/coaching-journey/ ). The club will pay for coaching courses if we consider that the person is sufficiently committed to the club. DBS checks are required as part of the coaching qualifications but initially as an unqualified helper you would always be with qualified and checked coaches there would be no requirement for a DBS check.
